Things to Do

Nearly every type of traveler will find something they love in Cincinnati. Here are a few of our favorite things to do in Andrew's hometown:

1.) Cincinnati Art Museum contains more than 60,000 works from across 6,000 years of history. Masterpieces by Botticelli, Monet, and other famed artists adorn its walls. Admission and parking are free.

2.) Over-the-Rhine, your go-to shopping district in downtown Cincinnati, has a wide variety of boutiques, from home décor to high-end apparel. Stroll along Vine Street’s historic buildings, explore the eclectic selection of merchants located on Main Street, or enjoy a cocktail and bite at one of the many restaurants.

3.) Paycor Stadium is where all our NFL fans can catch a Cincinnati Bengals game, pick up swag at the Pro Shop, or take a stadium tour.

4.) Contemporary Arts Center was one of the nation's first contemporary art institutions and focuses on new developments in painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, performance art, and new media. Admission is free.

5.) Findlay Market, which opened in 1855, is a vibrant mix of food stalls and upscale flea market vendors. On weekends, the streets are filled with vendors selling everything from jewelry to artisan bread to leather goods.

6.) Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is the country's second oldest. It's especially noted for its work with endangered species and innovative birthing programs with animals like Indian and Sumatran rhinos. On a visit here, you'll see everything from an Arctic fox to an African lion and—if you're lucky—Fiona the Hippo.

Dining

After living in New York for over ten years, it should come as no surprise that we appreciate a good meal. And these Cincinnati favorites never disappoint:

1.) Boca showcases Italian flavors executed with French precision and technique. It's been recognized as one of the nation's top French restaurants by Travel + Leisure and as one of OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in the United States.

2.) Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse has been a Cincinnati landmark for over two decades. Their new location is steps from Fountain Square and their most luxurious, with opulent Art Deco interiors.

3.) A trip to Cincinnati isn't complete without some famous Skyline Chili. Try a 3-Way (Andrew's favorite) or a veggie Chilito (Daniel's favorite).

Nightlife

Who's ready for the after-party? Raise a glass at one of these spots during your stay:

1.) Ghost Baby is a subterranean nightclub and live music venue.

2.) Igby's is a hip cocktail lounge with dramatic interiors in the heart of downtown.

3.) Pins Mechanical Co is a multi-level bar with duckpin bowling, pinball machines, and other old-school games.

4.) 21c Cocktail Terrace is a hidden gem in Cincinnati's nightlife scene. Perched atop the 21c Museum Hotel, it offers a bird's eye view of the city along with cocktails and small plates that are prepared by the hotel's restaurant, Metropole.

5.) MadTree Brewing's Taproom is a popular hangout for beer connoisseurs. They offer sixteen different beers on tap, many of which are small batches that aren't sold elsewhere. One tap is always reserved for cream soda or root beer. Catch-a-Fire Café also serves wood-fired craft pizzas onsite.
